likely the most impressive estate sale I'll ever attend. this man was a collector in many areas and he liked his treasures old and ornate. most of his enormous, packed house was full of giant pieces of intricate furniture. everything smelled like 40 years of darkness. I crawled underneath tables, reached into cobwebs and found tiny treasures that I could easily haul away.
1) ornately carved wood trivets from India -- the old kind. 2) carved antlers made of wood -- I wonder what these were for!? 3) cast iron (?) art nouveau wall hook. 4) three brass frames with bows -- for framing treasured photos. 5) brass picture stand. 6) square metal (maybe painted cast iron?) frame or trivet base for something fabulous.

I went into Voyager on Valencia Street earlier today (thevoyagershop.com) holy handmade goodies -- they've partnered with N&P and they're selling my jewelry (I had no idea!) awesome :)

really, treasure hunting and treasure creating were both inherited from this Little Mommy. She's recently moved her treasure creating supplies into the world's cutest, tiniest creative space off the back of her house. here's a sneak peak... she also has a vintage/handmade store here

I'm usually very focused when I go to estate sales.
I walk briskly toward the jewelry -- usually in the front room of any estate sale. This time I was a bit unfocused -- maybe an insufficient amount of coffee beforehand?
I atypically started my treasure hunt in the garage and worked my way up the back stairs, through the bedrooms and into the front room. I came home with many, many more pieces of jewelry than shown in this photo -- it was a true treasure trove of vintage costume jewelry with a few pieces of fine jewelry mixed in.
1) older cloisonne enamel bangle bracelet. fits a smaller wrist. 2) collection of solid copper artisan-made bracelets: some from Native American reservations (like Bell Trading), others unmarked and unsigned.
